Woman charged with baby's murder

A 26-year-old woman has appeared in court charged with murdering a baby boy more than three years ago.

Seven-month-old Reece McHattie died on 25 October, 2004 in hospital after being admitted three days earlier.

Martina McHattie, from Lupset, Wakefield, appeared before Wakefield magistrates on Thursday and was granted conditional bail.

She is due to appear at Leeds Crown Court on 13 December. Police would not confirm how she was related to the boy.
