Sister murder case jurors resume
A jury has started a second day of deliberations in the case of a teenager accused of murdering her 16-year-old sister with a carving knife.

The 14-year-old admits manslaughter but denies murdering her sister at their home in the Ovenden area of Halifax, West Yorkshire, on 26 March.

An argument escalated about boyfriends, but the defendant said she had intended to scare her sister, not kill her.

Judge Mr Justice McKinnon said he would accept a majority verdict.

I'm sorry and I love her and I want her back

The jury of three men and nine women heard that the argument became physical after the insults about their respective boyfriends.

But the court heard the 16-year-old, who was besotted with her boyfriend, would "go mad" if anyone said anything bad about him.

The defendant had told the court: "I'm sorry and I love her and I want her back."
