Man killed and boy hurt on tracks
A man has been killed and a 15-year-old boy has been injured in separate incidents on West Yorkshire rail lines.

The man, who has not been named, was hit by a train outside Huddersfield station on Wednesday afternoon.

Earlier a teenage boy was injured after falling onto the side of a railway track at Hare Park Junction, at Crofton, near Wakefield.

The incidents happened six days after a 19-year-old died on the line at Wyke Tunnel, in Bradford.

Rail ballast

Darren Anthony Baker died in the incident on 5 April.

His 21-year-old female companion, who has not been named, survived and is being questioned by police.

In the latest fatal incident, the driver of the Liverpool to Middlesbrough service reported seeing a man step in front of the train, British Transport Police said.

The 15-year-old who was injured in a separate incident is reported to have fallen onto rail ballast, although police have not confirmed how that happened.

Rail officials reported delays and cancellations to services on both lines because of the most recent incidents.
