Man arrested over woman's death

A man is being questioned by detectives over the death of a woman found with head injuries at a house in Castleford.

The woman, aged in her 70s, was found by police at a house in Redhill Gardens on Wednesday.

She was taken to Pontefract Royal Infirmary where she later died. Post-mortem tests showed she died from head injuries, police said.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested. Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
