Britain's Islam future examined
Bishop of Bradford
The Bishop of Bradford, David James, will speak at the conference
A conference focusing on the future of Islam for Muslim communities in Britain is being held in Bradford.

The event will examine the past, present and future for the communities across the country.

Speakers at the meeting include a representative from the Home Office, leading scholars and the Bishop of Bradford, the Rt Rev David James.

Bishop James said it was important that people knew what life had been like for Muslims since July's London bombings.

He said: "Life has been very difficult for many Muslims. They have suffered.

"The leaders of the Muslim community have been saying they abhor what happened on 7 July."

Yorkshire Forward, the Home Office and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation are all backing the conference, which is being held at the city's Hilton Hotel.
