Sex assault woman 'distraught'

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was subjected to a serious sex assault in Castleford.

The 21-year-old was walking along Wheldon Road towards Ferry Fryston in the early hours of Monday when she was attacked by a man in his late 20s.

Police described the attacker as slim with an athletic build, 6ft tall and quilted jacket.

Officers said the woman has been left "mentally distraught" by the attack.
