A Bradford man who was killed in an unprovoked attack has been named by West Yorkshire police.
Mohammed Abdul Basier, 27, had just left the West End Bar in Lumb Lane, Bradford and was walking towards a nearby taxi rank when he was stabbed.
He was found by a passer-by, who drove him to Bradford Royal Infirmary, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
A post-mortem examination was held on Sunday and forensic experts conducted a search of the crime scene.
Busy area
Detective Superintendent John Parkinson, who is leading the investigation, said: "This man appears to have been the victim of an unprovoked attack as he was walking to a taxi rank after spending the night with friends.
"He was approached by a man at the junction of Bowland Street, where he received chest injuries.
"He managed to make his way a short distance down Lumb Lane before collapsing."
The suspect is described as around 5ft 3ins tall, about 30 years old with dark hair and of either Eastern European or Middle Eastern appearance.
Det Supt Parkinson added: "We're particularly keen to speak to anyone involved in taking the man to hospital and anyone that was out in the West End Bar on Saturday night, or the Lumb Lane area between 2200 GMT and 0300 GMT.
"It is a lively, busy area with a number of bars and restaurants and we believe there were a lot of people around.
"It is possible they may have seen something that could help our investigation and I would urge them to come forward and speak to us."
