Two men arrested over Berkshire sex attack

Two men have been arrested over the abduction and sexual assault of a schoolgirl in Berkshire.

The 15-year-old was dragged into a vehicle near Oxenhope in Wildridings and taken to an unknown location where she was attacked on Thursday.

A 40-year-old man was arrested and bailed and a 43-year-old was held and later released without charge.

Police said rumours that there had been up to nine rapes and a murder in the community were "completely untrue".

Officers are also investigating an incident on the same day where a 14-year-old girl was grabbed by a man in Nutley but managed to escape.

'Scruffy appearance'

Insp Jon Goosey said: "We are aware that there have been rumours in the community about other similar incidents over the weekend.

"I would like to reassure the public that these rumours are completely untrue and that no further assaults of this nature have been reported to police."

The schoolgirl's attacker has been described as white, about 5ft 10ins tall, with stubble on his face, cropped hair and possibly, a bald patch.

He was of "scruffy" appearance, and, according to his victim, had a deep voice.

He was wearing dark-coloured trousers, a dark blue top, dark-coloured boots and a grey hat.
