Free ride home on New Year's Eve

Reading bus
The buses will run until 0215 GMT on New Year's Day

A free bus service is being laid on by Reading Borough Council and the town's bus company to help people return home safely in the early hours of 2010.

The Nighttrack buses will continue until 0215 GMT on New Year's Day. The special services have proved popular in the past.

The bus service should ensure thousands of revellers get home safely.

Routes include Emmer Green, Caversham, Woodley, Lower Earley and Shinfield Park and Tilehurst.

The service has run for more than five years.

Stuart Singleton-White, chairman of Reading Buses, said the town was "a great place for a night out and the offer of a free bus home should make New Year's Eve even better".
