Eight arrested after drugs raids

Eight people have been arrested in Dorset after more than 40 police officers raided several addresses in Swanage and one in Poole.

They are being held on suspicion of supplying class A and B drugs, including cocaine and cannabis.

A quantity of drugs were found and a modified loft where plants, believed to be cannabis, were being cultivated.

Six men and a woman, all from Swanage, were arrested along with a man from Poole and were due to be questioned.

All substances found were to be forensically examined.

The raids followed others on Saturday evening when two pubs in Swanage High Street, The White Swan and Purbeck Hotel, were raided.

A 33-year-old man from Swanage and a 55-year-old man from Birmingham were arrested and later bailed.
