View sought on town's development

Residents in a town have just four days to comment on 12 sites put forward for either development or protection.

In October last year, Reading Borough Council held a public consultation on 100 sites, which were put forward by the community and organisations.

It is now in the process of producing a document listing those that are to be protected or developed.

Residents have until Friday to comment on the 12 new sites, which include developing part of Reading Golf Course.

"These [the 12 sites suggested] are not proposals that have been endorsed by the council but the council is keen for the community to feed back again before the full document is drawn up," a spokeswoman from the local authority said.

The draft Sites and Detailed Policies Document is due to be published in February 2010.
