Boy, 4, seriously injured by car

A four-year-old boy sustained serious injuries when he walked into the road and a car ran over his leg.

Police said the silver car failed to stop after the incident in The Green, Chalvey, Slough, Berkshire.

But officers believe the driver may not have been aware he had hit the child and asked him to come forward.

The boy had been standing on the pavement before he walked into the road and was hit on Sunday. He was taken to Wexham Park Hospital with leg injuries.

Police have appealed for witnesses.
