Plea over rise in criminal damage

Residents in a Berkshire borough are being urged to tip-off police about criminal damage to cars which they say is the most commonly reported crime.

Bracknell Forest Council hopes people will use the charity Crimestoppers to pass on information anonymously to help reduce damage to vehicles.

The council said it was particularly interested in details about cars being broken into.

But added that the crime rise in the last six months was "relatively small".
