Officers arrested in drugs probe

Two police officers and three members of police staff based in Slough have been suspended in a drugs inquiry.

A female officer was arrested this week on suspicion of supply and possession of a class A drug and misconduct after an internal police investigation.

A female member of staff was also held on suspicion of possession of a class A drug. Both have been bailed.

It follows the arrest of another officer and two members of staff last month as part of the investigation.

All five have been suspended from duty while the police investigation takes place.

Ch Supt David Lewis, of Thames Valley Police, said: "These arrests demonstrate how seriously Thames Valley Police takes any allegations of misconduct.

"We continue to be committed to providing a police service of the highest professional standards and deal with allegations about our staff swiftly and robustly."
