Police are renewing their appeal for witnesses after a man died and two others were injured after being struck by vehicles on the M4 motorway.

A silver Renault Clio driven by a 41-year-old man from Woodley, Berkshire, crashed on the slip road at junction 10 of the westbound motorway one week ago.

A motorist stopped his vehicle to help but both men were struck by a VW Passat. The 41-year-old man died.

A female passenger of the Passat was then hit by a car after she got out.

The motorist who stopped to assist with the first crash - a 47-year-old man from Bracknell, Berkshire - remains in the Royal Berkshire Hospital where he is being treated for injuries to both knees and his face.

The female passenger of the Passat was taken to hospital after the crash but was later discharged.

Sgt Jim Lovell, of Thames Valley Police, said: "It is now a week since this incident happened and while we have spoken to a number of people, we are still looking for more witnesses to come forward.

"This junction was very busy at the time this incident happened and I'm sure there are people who would have seen what happened who have not contacted police.

"I am aware that there has been a lot of speculation about this incident, but it is still too early to comment on what happened until we have completed all of our investigations."
