Two schools in Berkshire are partially closed due to the cold snap.

Owlsmoor Primary in Sandhurst has asked Years Four to Six to stay at home for the rest of the week due to water damage. All other years should attend.

The nursery, reception class and Year One have all been shut until Monday due to a burst pipe at Meadow Vale Primary School in Bracknell.

But pupils will be back at Coley Primary School in Reading with classes resuming on Friday.

Children in Berkshire have also been warned not to risk their lives during the cold snap after youths were seen on two frozen lakes in separate incidents.

Police were called to Maiden Erleigh Lake, Lower Earley, and the Discovery Centre lake, Thatcham, on Tuesday.

No-one was injured but police said the ice could have broken without warning.
