Driver trapped in M27 collision

A driver was trapped in his car for about an hour after a collision with a articulated lorry which caused major delays on a Hampshire motorway.

The Ford Mondeo and the lorry collided on the eastbound M27 at junction 9 for Fareham just after 0700 GMT.

The motorist was released and taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The lorry driver was unhurt.

Two lanes were shut with traffic backed up for about eight miles. Police cleared the scene at about 0900 GMT.
