Credit union awarded lottery cash

A Berkshire credit union has been awarded £52,000 from the National Lottery to help it relocate to a new town centre building.

Last month, Reading Credit Union applied for a share of £5.5m from the People's Millions Big Lottery Fund.

The savings charity, which asked residents to nominate it for the cash boost, hopes to relocate next spring.

The scheme awards up to £50,000 to 89 organisations to improve the quality of life within communities.
