Police searching for a missing Berkshire woman said they have found her car and a pile of clothes next to a lock in Oxfordshire.

Wendy Macleod-Gilford, 69, vanished from her home in Lambourn on Friday.

Her white Ford Scorpio estate and a pile of female clothing were found at Day's Lock, at Little Wittenham, near Abingdon, the same day.

Police want to speak to anyone who saw a woman acting suspiciously in this area on Friday morning.

Thames Valley Police said the area attracts a lot of walkers who may be able help with the investigation.

Searches of the area around the lock are continuing.

Mrs Macleod-Gilford is white with grey hair in a bun, 5ft 6in, of medium build and wears glasses.
