Murder squad detectives believe a man found dead in a car is the same person wanted in connection with the suspected murder of a woman in Berkshire.

Officers forced their way into an address in Buttercup Place, Thatcham, and found the body of the woman, aged in her late 30s, on Monday.

Det Ch Insp Mick Saunders had said he wanted to trace Andrew Hudson, 43, from Thatcham, in connection with the case.

The man's body was found in a black Rover 620, at Catmore, near Newbury.

'Isolated incident'

The cause of the man's death has not yet been established, a Thames Valley Police spokesman said.

Post-mortem examinations of both bodies have not yet taken place.

Det Ch Insp Saunders added: "We are still in the very early stages of the inquiry and would ask anyone with information that could assist us to contact police immediately.

"I would like to reassure the community of Thatcham that we are treating this as an isolated incident and detectives are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the inquiry."
