A four-lane motorway junction will be constructed

Residents are being invited to give their views on work at a notorious bottleneck on the M4 in Berkshire.

Work on the £65m scheme to improve junction 11 in Reading began last month with the project expected to be completed in the summer of 2010.

It will include building a four-lane motorway junction with two road bridges around the existing junction.

Public meetings will be held in Reading on 16 May at the Holiday Inn and on 7 June at Three Miles Cross Church.

The work will also see two new junctions constructed, south of the M4 at Mereoak, to ease traffic in the Shinfield area.

The existing motorway junction will remain open throughout the first phase of the work in order minimise disruption, the local authority said.
