Afghanistan tour troops due home

Dozens of troops are due to be reunited with their loved ones when they arrive home later after a six-month tour of duty in Afghanistan.

About 100 soldiers from the Coldstream Guards will fly into RAF Brize Norton, Oxfordshire, before returning to their barracks in Windsor, Berkshire.

The troops from No 1 Company have been carrying out security duties in Kabul.

All four companies of the battalion have been in Afghanistan but are due back at different times, the MoD said.

A welcome home parade is due to take place through Windsor on 26 April.

Household Cavalry troops at Combermere Barracks in Windsor will also be honoured.
