400m makeover exhibition to open
Brunel roundabout
The masterplan includes replacing Brunel roundabout with a crossroads
An exhibition of the proposed designs for a 400m facelift of the Berkshire town will open for inspection.

The Heart of Slough project includes 1,300 new homes, offices, relocation of the main bus station and a new library.

Plans to replace Brunel roundabout, as featured in title sequence of the BBC's hit series The Office, with a crossroads are included in scheme.

The public exhibition will be held at Queensmere Shopping Centre on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Slough Borough Council hopes planning consent will be granted by the late summer and construction will begin in the spring of 2009.

If approved, the project - also involving English Partnerships, the national regeneration agency - could be completed by 2018.

English Partnerships has contributed 13.5m to the new vision for the borough.
