Festival crimes down police say
Police have arrested 77 people and 304 offences have been reported to police during the Reading Festival.

Thames Valley Police said the festival atmosphere had been good and crime was down from 450 offences last year.

Insp John Relph said: "There has been a significant reduction in crime at the festival this year.

"Obviously people may still report offences to us that have happened at the festival, but at this stage we are happy with the reduction figures show."

He added: "The policing operation has gone very well and I have to say that there was a fantastic atmosphere at the festival throughout the weekend."

Of the offences reported, 104 were thefts from tents at the festival site.
