Royal couple open college campus
The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh gave their royal blessing on Thursday to a new technical college in their home town of Windsor.

The 500 full-time and 2,000 part time students at East Berkshire College moved to their new cutting-edge campus in September 2006.

The Royal couple were given a tour of skills ranging from forensic science to window dressing.

"It was an absolute pleasure," said college principle Jean Robertson.

Mock crime scene

During the tour they even came face-to-face with a fake blood-spattered corpse in the forensic science laboratory.

Students had set up a mock-crime scene, with a man's body on the floor and his blood on the walls.

The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh inspected the corpse and asked students what had happened to him.

Jean Robertson said: "Her visit for me was a recognition of the importance of further education.

"[It] provides so many opportunities for young people and adults but sometimes goes unsung."
