Fines for drivers using bus lanes
Drivers who ignore bus lane rules in the centre of Oxford will now face fines of up to £60.

CCTV cameras are being installed in High Street, Castle Street, George Street and Magdalen Street by Oxfordshire County Council.

Steve Howell, the council's head of transport, said: "We have been concerned about the increasing numbers of people abusing the restrictions."

Officials will start handing out fines from 26 February.

Temporary signs will be put up around the city centre to warn motorists about the restrictions.

Letters will also be sent out to local traders.
