Flu virus 'did not kill teenager'
The death of a pupil was not related to the flu virus currently affecting schools, it has been revealed.

The 15-year-old pupil of The Holt School, in Wokingham, Berkshire, died on 8 February in hospital.

Afterwards, the Health Protection Agency sent a letter to parents telling them of the death and warning them of a flu-like illness affecting schools.

But it has now said post-mortem tests showed "a communicable disease was not a major contributing factor".

In a statement, a spokeswoman said: "The results of the post-mortem on the Wokingham school pupil have been studied carefully and it would be improper to discuss personal clinical details.

"We feel that a communicable disease was not a major contributing factor in this patient's death."
