Soldier found dead at army base

The body of a soldier has been found at an army training college in Berkshire.

The discovery was made in the grounds at Arborfield Garrison, near Finchampstead, at about midnight on Friday.

Thames Valley Police said the body was found by officers and that the death was being treated as "unexplained".

A force spokeswoman said no further information was available but that an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death was under way.

The man has not yet been formally identified.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Defence said: "I am aware of an incident in which a soldier has died. Thames Valley Police are investigating. I cannot comment further."
