Raiders leave behind cash machine
A gang of balaclava-clad thieves ram-raided a supermarket in a failed attempt to steal a cash machine.

The three men used three cars in the raid at Waitrose supermarket in Birch Hill, Bracknell in Berkshire, in the early hours of Wednesday.

A Vauxhall Frontera was driven through the main glass front before a Jeep was reversed through the hole. They made their getaway in another car.

Police said the cash machine was left behind and no money was stolen from it.

Det Con Paul Hunt, of Thames Valley Police, said: "Although it seems to have been unsuccessful they have caused extensive damage to the shop and the cars, which we believe to have been stolen."
