Charge over restaurant stabbing

A 35-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a man in his 40s suffered multiple stab wounds in a pizza restaurant.

The 43-year-old was injured in Pizza Express, St Mary's Butts, Reading, Berkshire, on Sunday morning.

He remains in a critical but stable condition in the town's Royal Berkshire Hospital, a police spokesman said.

A 35-year-old man, from Reading, is due to appear before Reading Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
