College handed Elton's equipment
Sir Elton John
Elton John is a patron of the college
An arts college has been awarded equipment used to record some of Sir Elton John's most famous songs.

The music console was donated to Reading College after it launched a new arts course in memory of the singer's producer, Gus Dudgeon.

Mr Dudgeon was recently killed in a car crash. The console was used on several Elton John hits including Song for Guy.

The Gus Dudgeon Foundation for Arts has been set up to train young people in specialist sound recording.

The console used to belong to Mr Dudgeon, who also used it when working with other stars including David Bowie, Chris Rea and Jennifer Rush.

He died in July 2002 when his car veered off the M4 between Reading and Maidenhead, and plunged down an embankment.
