Eton teacher resigns over 'porn'

A teacher at Eton College has resigned after being questioned by police on suspicion of downloading child porn.

Officers arrested the 58-year-old and seized his computer after fellow teachers at the exclusive Berkshire school made a complaint about him.

Headmaster Tony Little, confirmed that the teacher had resigned following his arrest last month.

Mr Little said the allegations were unconnected to pupils at Eton, where Princes William and Harry both studied.

Thames Valley Police confirmed the man was arrested last month and released on bail pending further inquiries.

Mr Little said: "His resignation was connected with a police investigation initiated by the school.

"There were matters of concern to us which we reported on to the police and at that point he resigned.

"I have no reason to suspect that the welfare of any Eton pupil is a cause for concern."

Eton College in Windsor was founded in 1440 and has nearly 1,300 boarders aged between 13 and 18.
