Public appearance for Countess
Sophie and Edward
The couple at the Royal Windsor Horse Show in Berkshire
The Countess of Wessex has made her first public appearance since her pregnancy was announced.

Sophie looked cheerful and relaxed as she visited the Royal Windsor Horse Show in Berkshire.

The baby is due in December and will be eighth in line to the throne.

Alongside the Queen, Sophie and her husband Edward watched the Duke of Edinburgh driving a four-horse carriage in one of the obstacle events.

The Earl of Wessex recently returned from an official visit to the Cayman Islands.

The 38-year-old mother-to-be had been planning to accompany Edward on the trip but pulled out because doctors have advised her to avoid undertaking official engagements during her pregnancy.

Sophie suffered an ectopic pregnancy in 2001.
