Man dies after pub attack
A murder investigation has begun after a 19-year-old man assaulted in a Reading pub died from his injuries.

Nicholas Pengelly managed to call a taxi and return home before he lost consciousness following the attack on Saturday night.

The assault happened at around 2100 BST in the games room of the Brewery Tap Pub in Castle Street, Reading.

Police believe Nicholas left the pub with serious head injuries and caught a taxi back to his home in Southcote.

His housemate called an ambulance at around 2300 BST, and Nicholas died in hospital early on Sunday morning.

Police say they need to speak to anyone who was in the Brewery Tap pub between 1800 and 2200 BST on Saturday night.

They are also keen to trace the taxi driver who took Nicholas back to Southcote.
