Charge over Luton fire engine crash death

A firefighter has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after the engine he was driving was in collision with a car in Luton.

Lateef Kadri Sheikh, 52, of Marlow Avenue, Luton, was taken to hospital where he died one month after the collision on 11 September 2009.

Robert Hulatt, 27, of Browning Close, Bromham in Bedfordshire will appear before Luton magistrates on 25 March.

The collision happened at the junction of Chapel Street and Windsor Street.
