Luton Borough Council bids to cut up to 90 jobs

Luton Borough Council has announced it is cutting up to 90 posts in an effort to make financial savings.

Council leader Hazel Simmons said the majority of cuts would be achieved by not filling vacancies.

She said: "There will be about 90 posts in total but the majority of those are vacant. But we are still working on all the detail of this."

The plans will go before the council executive later this month as the authority acts to make £6m in savings.
