Candidate chosen to replace Margaret Moran

Gavin Shuker said Margaret Moran had let down the people of Luton

A new Labour candidate has been selected to stand for the Luton South seat at the next election.

Gavin Shuker replaces Margaret Moran, who is not seeking reselection after a controversial expense claim.

Ms Moran claimed £22,500 to treat dry rot at her second home - 100 miles from Luton. She later repaid the money.

Mr Shuker was chosen by the constituency Labour Party on Sunday night. TV personality Esther Rantzen is standing in the seat as an independent.
