Suspect held after dying man has Christmas cash stolen

Police investigating the theft of a dying man's Christmas money have arrested a man.

Doreen Parker called for help when her 74-year-old husband Bob collapsed in their flat in Redall Close, Bedford.

A man came to their aid and helped Mr Parker into an ambulance. He was then left alone in the flat and £1,000 was later found to have been stolen.

Mr Parker was pronounced dead at hospital. Police are questioning a man on suspicion of theft.

The couple's bank cards were also taken in the incident last month.
