Robbery victim bound and gagged

An "exceptionally tall" man is being sought by police after a worker in Bedfordshire was left bound and gagged during a robbery.

A man believed to be about 6ft 5in (1.95m) and an accomplice ordered a night controller at a vehicle recovery business to hand over cash.

Bedfordshire Police said the victim was taped to a chair and gagged at Saunders Garage in Stotfold.

He was found shaken but unhurt an hour later on 3 September, police said.

Detectives have only just released details of the incident, which happened 0130 BST and 0145 BST.

The men left in a dark-coloured panel van, possibly a VW, towards the centre of Stotfold, which is near Letchworth in Hertfordshire.

A police spokesman said the tall offender was white, in his early 20s, muscular and was wearing a dark hooded top, dark tracksuit bottoms and a distinctive white baseball cap.

The second man was of Asian appearance, in his early 20s, 6ft (1.82m) and of medium build. He wore a black and blue Adidas tracksuit bottoms, a baseball cap and white trainers.
