Murder probe after park body find

A murder investigation is under way after a woman's body was found in a park in Buckinghamshire.

Thames Valley Police said the body of a woman in her 30s was discovered in Quarrendon Playing Fields, in Aylesbury, at 1538 BST on Saturday.

A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of murder shortly afterwards.

Police said no-one else was being sought in connection with the death. The results of a post-mortem examination are expected later.

Det Supt Rob Mason said: "The investigation is still in its very early stages and we are yet to identify and establish the cause of death."

He added that extra patrols were set up in the area to reassure the public.

The family of the dead woman have been informed.
