School trip stowaway not caught

A stowaway who hid underneath a coach of pupils from an all girls school travelling from France to the UK, is still on the run, say police.

Pupils from Abbot's Hill School, Hemel Hempstead, had returned from a trip to France and Belgium two weeks ago when an Asian man ran from under the coach.

Police were called but the man had disappeared by the time they arrived.

Hertfordshire Police said they had still not caught the man, who is believed to have stowed away at Calais.

The 14-year-old schoolgirls were on a four-day trip visiting the battlefields of World War I.

It is thought the stowaway managed attach himself to the underside of the coach as it went through Calais on the return journey.
