Man charged with firearm offence

A Hertfordshire man has been charged with possession of a firearm after a police armed response unit was called to an incident in Hertford.

Graham Swain, 57, from Windsor Drive, Hertford, has been charged with possession of an air weapon and intent to cause fear and violence.

Police were called to Windsor Drive on Saturday evening to reports of a man with a firearm.

The armed response unit discharged a baton round during the incident.

Mr Swain was taken to the QEII Hospital, Welwyn Garden City, but later discharged.
