Thousands affected by power cuts

Thousands of homes in Bedfordshire have been without electricity after a fault at a substation.

Power was cut to homes in Ampthill and Flitwick on Monday night, with about 1,400 customers affected by a second failure at 0800 BST on Tuesday.

Engineers have restored supplies to most customers affected by Monday's failure, while half those affected by the second cut now have power.

EDF Energy say they are doing all they can to restore normal supply.
