Prisoner awaiting sentence dies

A prisoner due to be sentenced for drugs offences was found hanging in his cell in a Buckinghamshire prison.

The Ministry of Justice said staff at Woodhill Prison in Milton Keynes made the discovery on Wednesday.

Paramedics attempted to resuscitate Patrick Bradshaw, 50, but he was later pronounced dead in hospital.

The Prison Service said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mr Bradshaw." An inquiry will be held by the prisons and probation ombudsman.
