Pedestrian killed in road crash

A 75-year-old woman was killed when she was hit by a car on the A40 in Buckinghamshire.

Police said a green Ford Mondeo was travelling from Gerrards Cross to Beaconsfield when the pedestrian was hit near the Mumford Lane junction.

The A40 was closed for five hours while police examined the scene.

Officers from Thames Valley Police want to speak to the occupants of the vehicles travelling behind the car when the incident happened on Wednesday.
