Concern for missing elderly woman

Relatives of a 74-year-old woman from Hertfordshire say they are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare, two days after she was last seen.

Police are searching for Valerie Abrams after she went missing from her home in East Road, Bishops Stortford.

A Hertfordshire Police spokeswoman said she last spoke to relatives on Thursday evening and has not been seen or heard from since.

She is 5ft 4in tall (1.62m), with a plump frame and short white hair.

The spokeswoman said she has a pale complexion and speaks with a local accent.

She said officers and relatives were "becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare".
