Man in court over headless body

John Finney
The body of John Finney was found in Ickleford on 14 March

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man whose headless body was found dumped behind a garage block in Hertfordshire.

Garry Mark Lattimore, 40, of no fixed address, appeared at Hatfield Magistrates Court charged with the murder of John Finney, 42.

Mr Finney's body was found in Ickleford on 14 March, two weeks after he was abducted from his vehicle.

Mr Lattimore will appear at St Albans Crown Court on 13 January.

He was arrested following a joint operation between Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire major crime unit and officers in Spain, in Madrid on 11 December.

Only the torso of Mr Finney was ever recovered and a police spokeswoman said officers were still looking for the other body parts.

Three other men have been charged in connection with the case and were remanded in custody last year.
