Ward is closed at hospital again

A ward has closed at Bedford Hospital due to gastroenteritis, days after it was given the all clear from norovirus.

Russell ward has been closed to new admissions and patient transfers after four patients showed symptoms of gastroenteritis.

Visiting is restricted so people are advised to telephone the ward before coming into the hospital.

Six wards were closed from the end of November to the start of December because of a norovirus outbreak.
