Wards open after norovirus fears

Bedford Hospital
Pilgrim ward has now re-opened after the virus was contained

All wards at Bedford Hospital have been re-opened after they were closed because of a winter sickness bug.

Pilgrim ward was the last to be closed due to the norovirus outbreak, but it has now been cleaned and re-opened.

Visiting will remain restricted across the hospital and visitors are asked to phone ahead for advice.

During the recent outbreak more than 200 hours were spent cleaning the seven affected wards, including 210 beds, bed spaces and curtains.
