A collection of photographs showing moments from the childhood of Queen Elizabeth II are going under the hammer in Essex.

The pictures belonged to Sidney Cumper who worked as a footman and page to Queen Mary, the Queen's grandmother.

The pictures, on sale at Reeman Dansie in Colchester, are expected to sell for about £600.

The pictures include images of Queen Elizabeth and Princess Margaret as children with their nursery maid.

At the same auction, a ring worn by the Duke of Windsor sold for more than £10,200.

The ring, inscribed with the words "Darling Wallis", was worn by the Duke until he died.
